The Ministry of Health participated in the International Therapeutic Conference and Exhibition in Turkey which was held between 11-14 June 2014. The ministry was represented by Dr. Mostafa Al Sayed Al Hashemi, Deputy Director of Dubai Medical District and Director of Therapeutic Tourism Program in the Ministry of Health.Dr. Mostafa Al Hashemi, lauded the efforts of the participants and expressed the UAE’s efforts in enhancing the role of therapeutic treatment since it represents a large support to the industry of the country thanks to the strategic location, political and economic stability of the country. He said: “The UAE is known for its positive environment and attraction for businessmen and investors from all over the world; it is also characterized with flexible laws and regulations in addition to the supporting infrastructure for therapeutic treatment and diagnostic services in all medical fields”.

His Excellency Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Health issued a ministerial decision to approve and register about 231 pharmaceutical resembled and innovative local, regional and global medicines. The decision was based on the recommendations of the National Higher Committee for Registration and Pricing headed by Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health and Licensing in the attendance of representatives from the Ministry of Health, Abu Dhabi and Dubai Health Authorities and a number of national universities and Dubai Healthcare City.

The Ministry of Health organized the Arab Conference for Child Health continuing for three days in Amwaj Rotana Hotel in Dubai. The conference was opened by Dr. Mostafa Al Hashemi, Deputy Director of Dubai Medical District and Director of Therapeutic Tourism in the Ministry of Health as well as a number of regional and international doctors who are specialized in paediatrics and neonatal surgeries.

Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, Ministry of Health Undersecretary, met with Excellency Jose Salaresh, Spanish Ambassador to the UAE, to discuss bilateral relations in the health field. The meeting was attended by Dr. Essa Ahmed Al Mansouri, Manager of Undersecretary’s Office and Director of International Health Relations.

Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health visited Kuwait and Al Dhaid Hospitals as part of his regular checkup visits for the hospitals. The Undersecretary was accompanied by Dr. Youssif Al Serkal, Assistant Undersecretary for Hospitals Sector.

Dr. Mostafa Al Sayed Al Hashemi, Acting Director of Dubai Medical District and Director of Therapeutic Tourism in the Ministry of Health and member of the GCC-Turkish Bilateral Health Committee which was held in Kuwait between 14-15 May 2014 to examine the registration procedures of drugs and medical equipments, study the application methods and registration of health practitioners in the GCC countries and Turkey.
